End of Monastic Summer Retreat ‘Yarne’

At the end of their traditional monastic summer retreat monks from Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling monastery were showing their debating skills and finally left the monastery for a short while to circumambulate the Great Stupa in Boudhanath.

On the last evening of the retreat the monks of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling monastery showed off their philosophical debate skills that they were deepening during their summer monsum retreat of Yarne. One party establishes a philosophical view, the other tries to defeat it with sharp logic and fast verbal attacks. Strong emotions are part of the dsiplay and usually a lot of laughter and enjoyment is an essential part of it.

On the last morning of ‘yarne’ the monastic summer retreat officially concluded with the monks of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery, wearing their festive robes, cicrumambulating the Great Stupa at Boudhanath.
